Psi Alpha Chapter

On August 22nd 1997, four women united together to establish a colony of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority at Rutgers University, New Brunswick Campus. Their main purpose was to bring a sorority to campus that promoted the advancement of all women. On July 23rd, 1998, Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority Inc. recognized these women as an official colony.

For the rest of the Fall '98 semester, the members were involved in various academic, cultural, moral, and social projects as well as community service programs with Elijah’s promise and the Museum of Agriculture.  These women spent the next spring and fall semester working on being recognized as an official chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma Sorority.

As a result of their hard work, these women were officially recognized as the Psi Alpha Chapter of Sigma Lambda Gamma National Sorority on February 1, 2000.
